Wala Drum and Dance Ensemble are from Ghana West Africa

performing a blend of original and traditional music mostly in 6/8

and 4/4 time. With 15 hand-made African drums, flutes and

stunning costumes, engages their audiences in a call and response

song. WALA means “life” in their local language and the perfection

of the name becomes clear as they explode into their breathtaking

celebration of the Ghanaian Spirit.


WALA’s performances have included Moomba and St Kilda Festival

in Melbourne, the Brisbane Riverfest, Woodford Folk Festival,

Sydney Global Village, Adelaide Fringe Festival, the National Multicultural festival in Canberra, QLD

performing Arts Centre and Tanks Art Centre, BEAMAC Cultural Arts, Nexus Art, and Immigration

Museum to list a few of many prominent venues and events.
